– 日本付近での海洋プレートの沈み込み –
1.1 At Japan Trench ( off the eastern shore of the northeastern part of Honshu – the main island ), Pacific Plate ( oceanic plate ) subducts beneath the northeastern part of Honshu ( continental plate ) .
1.2 At Izu-Ogasawara Trench ( between North Pacific Ocean and Philippine Sea ), Pacific Plate subducts beneath Phippine Sea Plate ( oceanic plate ).
1.3 At Nankai Trough ( Off the southwestern shore of the archipelago of Japan ) , Philipine Sea Plate subducts beneath the southwestern part of Honshu ( Eurasia Plate – continental plate ).
1.1 日本海溝（日本列島の本州北東部沖）で、太平洋プレート（海洋ブレート）が、本州東北部の下に沈み込んでいる。
1.2 伊豆・小笠原海溝（北太平洋とフィリピン海の間）で、太平洋プレート（海洋プレート）が、フィリピン海プレート（海洋プレート）の下に沈み込んでいる。
1.3 南海トラフ（日本列島西南部沖にある）で、フィリピン海プレート（海洋プレート）が、本州西南部（ユーラシアプレート）の下に沈み込んでいる。
